The 08L9870 provides up to 200GB of native storage, or up to 400GB with 2:1 compression. The cartridge is embedded with an LTO Cartridge Memory (LTO-CM) chip, which is designed to enable fast, simultaneous transfer of cartridge-dependent data with IBM tape drives during media load and unload cycles. The LTO Ultrium 2 data cartridges are compatible with LTO Generation 2 tape drives and tape libraries utilizing LTO generation 2 drives from IBM and other LTO generation 2 compliant suppliers.
